
After making her appearance as the title role in Mausi
or: how
an old lady finds her way back to India, Sulekha Das is
back by popular demand. She wowed audiences in her hilarious
onscreen debut as the hyper chai-caffeinated Mary Poppins from
India and inspired the continuation of this story as a feature. Sulekha
made her foray into acting doing radio plays for All India Radio. She
is also a talented lyricist and poet. In
addition to being
the Director of
the Whippanong
Public Library,
she dedicates much
of her time to
charitable causes
including the M.A.
Center, a school
for blind and deaf
children, and an
orphanage in her
home state of Orissa,
India.

Gargi
Mukherjee recently
played the part
of Mira Mashi in
Mira Nair’s
latest film, The Namesake. She
is a well-known actress in the
New York/New Jersey
Bangla theatre
community. She
performed the lead
part in Rabindranath
Tagore’s The
Red Oleanders at the South Asian Theatre Festival in the summer
of 2006. In the International Fringe Theater Festival of New York
in 2005, Gargi performed a monologue The Breast Chronicle, to
much critical acclaim,
which was based on
an adaptation of
a short story by
the celebrated Indian
novelist Mahasweta
Devi. She
was the executive
producer of a documentary Free to Sing made
on the controversial
singer/songwriter
from Kolkata, India. Gargi
holds a master’s
degree in English Literature
from NYU.

Barnali has been a working actress in Chicago for several years.
Her credits include the short film Complimentary Nuts.
Barnali has done several commercials, print campaigns, and voiceovers.
In 2003 Barnali co-founded the first South Asian theatre company
in the Mid-West, Rasaka Theatre Company. Rasaka produced Karma
Calling as a staged reading during its inception at the
Storefront Theater in Chicago.

Ansuman makes an encore appearance as Shyam Raj in Karma Calling. He
played Shyam in the short film Mausi or: how an old lady
finds her way back to India and received accolades for his
onscreen debut in film festivals across the globe. Ansuman
is also an executive producer with Illpath Entertainment, an independent
music label creating original hip hop sounds.

Ishani developed her passion for acting when she was in
the 5th grade and began acting lessons with Kerry Lea in New York
City. Her first gig was for a Masala Bhangra Workout Video
with Sarina Jain. Her dedicated father, Mike, continued to accompany
her to auditions and forums until she landed her next big break with
a small part in August Rush, starring Robin Williams and
Freddie Highmore. Ishani
recently appeared on
HBO's new hit "Flight
of the Conchords" and
also wrapped on the
feature film "Pretty
to Think So."

Kavi
was most recently seen
as Mira Shenoy, Mohinder’s
ex, on NBC’s new
hit show Heroes. She
also appears in
the upcoming Mr. Woodcock
with Billy Bob Thornton
and
Susan Sarandon and is
set to shoot the feature
Joy
Lies with fellow KC
cast-mate Samrat. You

Kavi’s voice as
the narrator on the
recently released
doc Jihad: Searching
for Answers, and see
her in
several commercials
including Chevy and
Continental.
On stage she has appeared
in Anon(ymous) at The
Public
Theatre in NYC, Pentecost
at Yale Rep, Seven.11.2005
and several other off-Broadway
productions. Her
television credits include
Las Vegas, Cosby, HBO’s
Subway Stories and Law & Order.
She holds a BFA in
Acting from NYU’s
Tisch School of the
Arts and
currently studies with
Stuart Rogers and is
a member
of Theatre Tribe in
North Hollywood.

Darshan
Jariwala is a theater
veteran now claimed
by films. An accountant
by qualification,
and stockbroker
by profession, Darshan
lived a schizophrenic
life, cultivating
a passion for theater
which competed with
his successful career
in finance for 20
years. Eventually,
he chucked it all
and turned into
a full-time actor.
Recently, Gandhi,
My Father opened
worldwide to rave
reviews for Darshan’s
complex rendering
of Mahatma Gandhi.
According to Newsweek
magazine, “Veteran
actor Darshan Jariwala
gives a refreshing
portrayal of a man
whose cast-iron
morality could transform
a nation yet failed
to save his own
son.” Mostly
busy with Bollywood
films such as Guru,
he has also acted
in a couple of indies
stateside including
Karma Calling and
Loins Of Punjab
Presents.

Samrat
Chakrabarti holds
an MFA in Acting from
the ART/MXAT Program
at Harvard University. His film credits include: Bruce

Azmi), Spike Lee’s She
Hate Me, Joseph
Castelo’s The War Within (Independent
Spirit Award nominee),

Banerjee), Ajay
Naidu’s Ashes and
Amyn Kaderali’s Kissing
Cousins. He
has had several
guest appearances
on TV in the last
year on shows like Law and Order, The
Sopranos, Love Monkey and Hope and Faith. His
recent stage roles
include Nirad Das
in Indian Ink at
the Missouri Rep and Arun in Lingering Voices at
the 2004 Edinburgh
Fringe Festival. Samrat is also an established
international musician and has won numerous awards for his music,
including a U.S. CARA for Best Original Pop/Rock Song for his
composition, “What’s
It All About.”

Parvesh Cheena has been a part
of Karma Calling from
its reading in Chicago with Rasaka Theatre Company (Founding member)
to its final cut. Based in Los Angeles, Parv grew up in
Naperville, IL and attended college at Roosevelt University in
Chicago. He made his film debut in Barbershop in
2002 as Samir and reprised his role in the 2004 sequel, Barbershop
2: Back in Business. Parvesh has
also appeared on the ABC sitcom, Help Me Help You starring
Ted Danson, ER, The West Wing, The Suite
Life with Zack and Cody, and Crossing Jordan. He
is currently performing with "The Group" at Second City
Los Angeles and is set to film Ode in 2007.

Debargo
hails from New York City and most recently costarred in Ajay Naidu’s
(Office Space) directorial debut Ashes. He
also starred in Quarter Life Crisis, West 32nd Street, and
My Sassy Girl and has made TV guest appearances on The
Sopranos and Law and Order: Criminal Intent. On
stage, Debargo has performed in dozens of plays including Indian
Ink, Port Authority Throw Down, Harvest, Smoking Bloomberg and Browntown.
